Starnes Jewelry Store - Stanly County's oldest business.  Located on the first floor of the Starnes-Opera House building.

Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation - The local driving force behind continued revitalization in the downtown area. 

Stanly County Library - Located in downtown Albemarle.  The Heritage Room is a wonderful resource of historical information on the area.

The Stanly County Museum - The Stanly County Museum is comprised of a modern visitor center and two historic homes; the 1847 Freeman-Marks House and the 1852 Snuggs House.  All are centrally located on the museum complex in downtown Albemarle.  The Museum Visitor Center houses the museum’s Heritage Gallery, a research room, a gift shop,  staff offices, and restrooms.  There is no admission fee.

Theatre Historical Society of America- THSA is the only organization in the U.S. which exclusively records and preserves the rich architectural, cultural and social history of America's theatres. Through its collections and publications, THSA makes available information on more than 15,000 theatres, primarily in the United States, and encourages further research in these areas.
