North Carolina Paranormal Investigations
Visit 2 - February 2007
Team members present:
Julie, Jason, David, and Debbie.
A follow up
investigations was granted by the current owner. This
investigation was deemed important to gain more info and
research data.
Upon set up, a shadow
figure was seen by the investigation team in the balcony
from the bottom floor. It appeared to be standing behind the
wall and seemed to be very inquisitive. When the figure was
recognized it disappeared. Baseline EVP and Temp. data was
collected, no spikes or drops were noted. Two members
decided to go to the balcony under the entry to the attic to
start their investigation. The location was viewed as
important due to the previous EMF spike from the first
investigation, and the sighting from a few minutes prior. A
theory was also used. The theory is that a spirit will go to
the most far away point from humans to keep from being
disturbed. The members settled in with voice recorders to do
EVP's, a temp. gauge, and a new tool, a Geiger counter. The
other team members settled in the auditorium floor to note
any activity. An EVP session was started, asking questions
to possibly determine who might be the shadow figure that
had been seen. Confirmation to several questions were
obtained with the use of an EMF meter and the data given by
the Geiger counter.
A second session was
started using a circle formation of all the members present.
At a point into the session, footsteps were heard coming up
the entry steps. The steps were heard so clearly, the team
fully expected to see someone walk into the auditorium. No
one entered. Two members went to inspect, and make sure the
entry was secured, and it was intact, and undisturbed. Once
settled back down a questioning period began again. Cold
spots were coming and going almost on command. Spikes in the
EMF fields were consistent as well. The investigation ended
with no more activity.
Evidence is as follows :
1. No audio
EVP was collected.
2. No
video evidence was collected by hand held devices.
3. A
visual of the shadow spirit was seen by several members.
4. No
explanation of the footsteps heard could be given.
5. EMF
spikes were consistent with the temp. drops documented.
Conclusion: NCPI came to the conclusion after
two successful investigations that the Albemarle Opera House
was believed to be haunted. The identity of the haunting is
still somewhat of a mystery. NCPI, from the data collected,
believes the shadow is the spirit of a male, who was once a
worker in the Opera House. The answers given did not lead us
to think it was a woman, or one of the previous owners, or a
performer from days gone by. NCPI would like to continue
their investigations at this location to further their
research, and continue to be exact in the identification of
the spirit that haunts this wonderful place. |
