North Carolina Paranormal Investigations

Visit 1 - November 2006

Team members present: Thomas, Julie, Debbie, Jason, Stephanie, Randy, and Greg. Two investigations were to be conducted that night, so the team split into two groups, which would switch locations and conduct their own investigation.

Team 1 did an initial EMF sweep. The base line at that time was 1.5¬3. A spike of unknown cause was located on the stairway between the mezzanine and the balcony. A jump of 2.5-5 was noted, with no explanation. A second spike was noted at the top of the balcony stairs on the right, no cause was determined. Spike number 3 was at the back right comer of the stage. A reading of 6 was taken for a short time and then dissipated back to 2-3. No cause was found for that spike either.

Team 1 did a walk through of the front offices and everyone present noted hearing a man’s voice from within the old doctor's office.

Team 1 assembled around the top of the entry stairwell to do EVP's. No voices were heard except the team members. At one point a faint sound of an old piano was heard by team members. Close to the end of their investigation our two way receiver keyed itself. The team responded thinking it was the other team trying to make contact. Much to our surprise they were not. Nothing visual was noted by team members.

Team 2 did their initial base lines and noted a steady EMF of 1.2 in the balcony and a steady 2.1 on the stage. No temp spikes or drops were noted.

Team 2 did their investigation from the stage, with one member stationed at the split screen monitor to record activity. During an EVP session a team member noted a temp. drop of more that 10 degrees. No drafts could be located and the cold lasted for several minutes. It would be noted upon review that at that time, a number of orbs would be noted in that same area. Dust could have been a factor, but no such dust had been seen before or after that time period.

Team 2 wrapped up their investigation at the monitors, when a dark shadow like figure passed across the stage from right to left in the area of the right stage window. This figure appeared to be in front of the window and blocked out the light as it passed by. This was also the area of the unexplained EMF spikes, the orbs, and the cold spot noted earlier in the evening.

Evidence is as follows:

1.   No voices other than team members were captured on EVP.

2.   The faint sound of piano music was caught on audio.

3.   No video evidence was captured by hand held's.

4.   No explanation for the two way activity of the radios.

5.   The I.R. video did show a shadow like figure move across the stage in the area of questionable EMF and cold spot activity.

Conclusion : NCPI would like to do a follow up investigation . Conditions were found favorable for a haunting, due to evidence captured, stories that have been reported, and the history behind the site.
